He was born in Jamaica. It’s been 20 years since he came to Japan. He is a Jamaica Tourism Goodwill Ambassador and a PR Ambassador for Kakuda City in Miyagi Prefecture.
He teaches gospel classes at 13 venues across the country and works as a gospel director.
He is actively involved in promoting gospel music. He also travels around the country as a singer, appearing in domestic and international music events, performing at various events, and performing in her own concerts and gigs. He has performed at gospel workshops in the areas affected by the earthquake and tsunami, as well as events organized by cultural foundations, government agencies, and boards of education, such as the Pink Ribbon and Disaster Prevention and Fire Prevention Festival.

John Lucas is celebrating 17+ years since coming to Japan. His home country Jamaica, and his second hometown, Japan.
The word that was created to describe this fusion is, “JAPONICA”. The main aim of this project is “cultural & international exchange.”
HISTORY
Born August 10, 1979
John is from the island paradise of Jamaica. His father was a pastor, and his mother a teacher of Spanish. The last of three siblings, their home was full of love and music. In his early years, he was exposed to music and the finer arts. From the age of 5 to 18 he participated in children’s musical theater. He has also experienced government-sponsored music festivals and competitions. He attended Jamaica’s largest private university “Northern Caribbean University” where he majored in vocal performance, media, and religious studies.
